St. Paul Basilika, Belgium

The sender of this card tells me that the St. Paul Basilika  in Liege, Belgium, became the Cathedral after the destruction of the St. Lambertus Cathedral during the French Revolutlion in 1789.

  1. Hmm... I wonder why the postcard seems to focus more the lion than the cathedral. Is it probably because of the lion being symbolic to the French?

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment in my page, Heather! :)

  2. Thanks for pointing that out Maria, I didn't even consider that myself. I would guess that it was a result of the photographer rather than any philosophy.
