Postcard Friendship Friday - visual texture

i received this gorgeous card from a postcrosser in Australia.  She realized that I was a quilter and that I would appreciate the pattern.  It is from the box 100 Postcards by 10 Contemporary Pattern Designers  by Princeton Architectural Press. This particular card is by Rachel Coney, 2009 - Leanne Shapton    After receiving this card, I want the entire box to play with.

On the left is the Princess Parrot and on the middle stamp, Purple Crowned Lorikeet.  On the right is Waratah.

Post Card Friendship Friday - Animals Down Under

It was way back in 1990 that my godfather sent me this post card from Australia.

Following is the information from the back of the card:

Koala (Phascolarctos cinereus)

Of all Australian herbivourous marsupials the Koala is probably the most highly specialised.  It is entirely a creature of the treetops.  About one kilogram of food is consumed each day, consisting of various types of gum leaves.  The Koala givess birth usually to a single young, which is carred on the female's back after the usual period of time in the pouch.

Photographed at the Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary, Brisbane, Australia.

Post Card Friendship Friday - Animal World

One of the other participants has been educating us with his animal postcards.  I have enjoyed them so much that I have decided to feature cards from the animal world for the next few weeks.

On the back, this one says "The Australian Kangaroo with Koala inset."

I received this when I did a quilt block exchange with a quilter in Sydney, Australia.  No stamps.

The website Koala Express has a page of interesting facts about Kangaroos.
