Post Card Friendship Friday - Hello from the other Down Under

View of the Westhaven Marina and Auckland City, New Zealand.

I received this card on Thursday from my dear niece.  It was about this time last year that we were anxiously awaiting her arrival.  We were fortunate that she decided to come and stay with us for over six months.  What a pleasure to have her here with us.  Now she is back in New Zealand to continue her schooling.  She lives in the Auckland area is sees this view everyday. Lucky girl.

Canada Post has now gone on strike and will be holding rotating stikes for the next while.  Today we received some post, but who knows what next week will bring.  Are the postal workers in your country allowed to strike?  Leave me a comment and let me know.

  1. I do not believe the US postal workers can strike, but I might be wrong. Actually I probably wouldn't notice since not much mail comes anymore thanks to my stopping virtually all junk mail. But I would surely miss seeing my carrier.

Hope your strike gets ummm...sorted out soon.

  2. That must have been a great experience for your niece, to have six months in Canada. I'd love to see new Zealand some day because it seems such a beautiful country.

Our postal workers are allowed go on strike and do from time to time. It doesn't seem to happen very often. They are sometimes localised strikes and only affect an area.

  3. Lovely postcard. I could live with that view everyday! No striking here (US) for our postal workers. Happy PFF!

  4. LOL. Although it might not be a laughing matter to the businesses who bill you every month - by mail - for services like gas (for heating), electricity (ditto) or - web access? Nice card, and I hope that they deliver. Like Tattered, I don't think U.S. postal workers can strike. It's like air traffic controllers...

  7. They are talking about ending Saturday service. Postal workers are an interesting bunch - I was in post office today - there were at least 10 people in line, and only one window open. You could hear several people in the back, laughing and talking, but none came forward to help!

  8. What a gorgeous postcard! I've heard New Zealand is beautiful, though I've never been there.

I don't think (US)postal workers can strike ... we still get delivery Monday through Saturday. I hear they are planning on eliminating Saturday delivery though, to save money ...
