My mom knows how much I like to get real mail and especially postcards, so she makes me these wonderful fabric postcards and mails them to my office. It makes my day when I receive one. The women in my office always oh and ah over the lovely cards.
I told her about one of the girls wanted one that was a beach scene and two weeks later me and Dom both received beach scene postcards at work. I have loved teddy bears since I was a little girl and so the majority of the ones I receive are Teddy themes.
Isn't it nice to receive something that was hand made for you with love?????
It's always exciting when I receive a postcard in the mail. I want to share that joy by sending a postcard every week; sometimes to family and friends, and other times to strangers via Postcrossing.com.

Post Card Friendship Friday - All Eyes on the Castle
While all eyes are focused today on London and all it's wonderful buildings and castles, I am directing your attention south to a much different one. Larnach Castle, Dunedin, New Zealand.
My friend sent me this card when she visited there with her children in 2002.
Great stamps on the back. The one on the left is of Lake Wanaka, the next features sugar cookies and the third, while not a value stamp, it is attached to the star cookie one.

Postcards My Sister Sent - The Museum
I get this feeling that my sister thinks I am in need of more culture. She is widely travelled and has lived in several countries. She immerses herself in the culture of the country when she is there. Does that explain why she sends me postcards from museums?
The Shipwreck by J. M. W. Turner 1805
This hangs in the Tate Gallery
Was bequeathed by the artist to the gallery in 1865
A collection of Turner works is housed at the gallery.
I was lucky enough to view some of these when they visited Toronto, Ontario in the early 1980's.

Red Heads have more fun!!!
My girl fiend at work went to England and she usually sends me a postcard from her trips but when she bought this one she decided not to drop it in the mail because she said it was too pretty and didn't want it to get wrecked.
You see if is an avatar of me. I have long auburn curly hair and green eyes and tend to wear a lot of green clothes. Don't usually have doves in my hair though, i am not that angelic lol.
I put this card up in my office. I love this card :)
It's nice when people see things they know you will like and buy them for you, that's the kind of friend she is.
The Great Gatsby
I recently bought a large box of postcards from Penguin Books. It contains the images of 100 book covers from the past 75 years. Being a book lover, I just had to have these to send to my book loving friends.
This is going to my dear friend Patricia. I can recall reading this book in high school and she particularly enjoyed it. Hope she enjoys the reminiscence.
Now on to the next 99 friends.

The Alberta Badlands
My sister Nancy is wonderful about staying in contact. If she isn't calling me, she's sending emails or postcards. It's great for me that she loves to travel. It doesn't seem to matter whether it's half way around the world th China, or down the highway to Banff. Here's the latest card. It's from the Alberta Badlands. I"m supposed to apologize for taking so long to get around to posting it for all to enjoy.
For those who don't know, the badlands are the source of some of the most extensive dinosaur fossil beds in the world. Drumheller, Alberta is know as the Dinosaur Capital of the World.

Postcard Friendship Friday - The Hug
My sister Nancy sent me this postcard with a drawing by John Lennon titled The Hug.
She told me that she had visited the John Lennon museum while she was in Japan. This museum closed September 30, 2010 after a ten year run. Some details about the museum can be found at Wikipedia.
She said that this card reminded her of the time I went to Toronto, Ontario with a bunch of my friends for a candlelight memorial the day after his death.

Post Card Friendship Friday - Remembering Friends
What a great picture of the Colosseum. I have not been there myself, though this picture makes me want to hop a plane. This card was sent by my best friend Julie Ann while she was in Italy for her honeymoon. It would have been sent in May of 1993. She wrote that she was sunbathing at the Trevi Fountain as she was writing. Unfortunately my friend passed away almost three years ago. I felt this would be a lovely way to pay tribute to her memory.

Lake Louise Banff National Park
This is a postcard of Lake Louise located in the Beautiful Banff National Park. I am sending this postcard to my sister Shelley. Shelley and Heather came to visit me two summers ago because Heather and I were running out first half Marathon. Two days before the race I took the girls to Lake Louise. One can not go to Lake Louise without hiking up to the tea house to of course to have tea and to see the view of this spectacular lake. Two years later and Heather still brings up the fact I made her do all this mountain climbing just before her first big race. My excuse was that I was trying to get her acclimatized to the high elevation of Alberta so the race would be easier. She may never run a race with me again lol

Post Card Friendship Friday - Life Long Friends
Every time I view this card it makes me smile.
I like to imagine that these young girls could be mothers of their own girls.
My sister sent me this card probably around 1987.
I felt that it was perfect for Postcard Friendship Friday.
I also promised a winner for the lovely Year of the Rabbit postcard I featured last Friday.
I went to Random.org to select a winner from the 14 comments.
Winner is: Sheila at A PostCard a Day.
