It's always exciting when I receive a postcard in the mail. I want to share that joy by sending a postcard every week; sometimes to family and friends, and other times to strangers via Postcrossing.com.

Fabric Postcards ready to Mail
In between my bigger sewing projects I have been working on a few fabric postcards. They are all made with trimming from when I was cutting pieces for my quilt. I plan to send these to authors whose books I particularly enjoyed reading.
The scraps for these postcards are from my most recent project. I am still working on the quilting of the border, though that should be complete in the next few days. I don't have a photo on my blog yet, sorry. I can tell you that it is very bright and colourful.
Valentine Received
This wonderful Valentines card arrived from Estonia yesterday.
I'm guessing that this stamp indicates that it is in celebration of the Year of the Dragon.

Pay It Forward
Last week while cruising the net, I visited one of my usual places and she was hosting a 'Pay it Forward' contest. I did enter, but I also decided that I would pay the kindness forward. I went to Postcrossing and requested two addresses.
This cute one of Ariel and her pal Flounder is on it's way to a collector in Germany.
The friends from Toy Story 2 are on their way to the United States.
When the mood strikes, how do you 'Pay it Forward'?

Sisters
My sister Heather who shares this blog made me this postcard special for me as you can see that she added Best SISTER Friends! It was a treat to find in my mailbox.
Both my mom and sister are very creative when it comes to making things.
It made me smile to find this in my mail box and to put by my computer. Just the phrase "WHATEVER" seemed appropriate at this time in my life.

Valentine's Day 2012
Happy Valentines Day to everyone. I sincerely hope your day and your lives are filled with lots of love.
I am lucky I have many many people that love me. I received these valentines from some of my family members. My mother embroidered the first two cards for me. One was for valentines day and the other for my birthday which happens to fall on February 13th. My parents never put the two together there was always birthday cake and then when valentines came there was a heart card and some chocolate. No different this year.
The second vintage postcard valentine is from my sister Heather whom I share the blog with. She has been sending out vintage valentines this year to whomever she thought suited each card. My niece picked this one for me and I quote "A ginger just like Nancy, is how Shannon put it" I have the curly red hair in the family. All the cards came just at my birthday and valentines as if the postmaster kept them to deliver on the exact right day.
I feel lots of love from my family. They are wonderful.

Valentine Tree
Wouldn't it be great to have a tree such as this in your garden. It would prompt me outside every sunny day to gaze at it. It will be winging it's way to a dear friend that I have known since the third grade.

Valentines
I found these cards on a table one day on my walk to the library so I picked up a few. They are advertising for something, but they are also cute and were perfect to send this week. So there are a few on there way to some people I love. I hope they "FEEL the LOVE" when they open their mailboxes.
He looks just like Uncle David
Somehow daughter decided that this messanger boy looks just like my brother when he was little. How daughter would know that, I have no idea. She has only seen a few photos of my brother when he was young. Of course, that meant that I had to sent this one along to him and his wife.

Double Dare
Since my sister dared me to "make a mailbox happy", I decided to double dare her to send a second card. This time, Postcrossing chose to have me send my card along to Hawaii. This is a classic view of the CN Tower and the Roger's Dome in Toronto.

She Dared Me
The quilt featured on this postcard is titled: Reign of the Sun by quilter Diana Swim Wessel. It is from her out of print book Inspiration Odyssey: A Journey of Self-Expression in Quilts. Postcrossing gave me the address of a teacher in Russia. I thought this would be perfect for her. When I looked at it, it made me think of making paper quilts with her students.

Beauty and the Beast!
This postcard of Belle from Beauty and the Beast (click here to watch the clip of this scene on youtube) is on it's way to my friend Etsuko in Japan. she likes Hello Kitty but I didn't have any of those to send so I am sure she will like this one of Belle. Beauty and the Beast if my favourite Disney Cartoon, I have probably seen it 30 times and love it each time :) I saw it for the first time on the Champs-Elysees in Paris France when I lived there as an Au Pair girl. The Beauty and Beast 3D is in theatres right now.
I dared my sister who double dared me to send two postcards to postcrossing, www.postcrossing.com but I have done her one better I have sent one everyday for the last 5 days. I have two more too go till I meet my allowed quota of cards travelling at one time. It is nice to know I will make 7 people's mailboxes happy in the next week or so. this card with the flower is off to a young lady in the Ukraine.
