Coffee with a Friend

 

Coffee makes me smile as does this card from Germany.  It is from the company Susy Card.

Penguins in the Ukraine

This is a great card.  It came to me from the Ukraine.  Now I am left to ponder what is the tie between penguins and that country.  First, wild penguins are one found in the southern hemisphere.  There is a Unkrainian, Alexei Ponikarovsky, who plays for the Pittsburgh Penguins hockey team.  Author  Andrey Kurkov wrote a book called Death and the Penguin after reading a story about the Kiev Zoo. Whatever the connection, this is a great card.

  

 

Town Symbols of Friesland

The map may be small, but the town symbols/crests of eleven of the towns in Friesland are wonderful.  The sender tells me that Leewarden is the largest town and Sloten is the smallest.  Friesland is one of the north most provinces in the Netherlands.

Map of Los Angeles

I've flown into Los Angeles airport several times, and never ceases to amaze me that the city is so huge.  You fly over it for ages before arriving at the airport.  It must be at least thirty minutes if approaching from the east.  This may seem exaggerated, but when you consider that the airport is right on the coast, that's a lot of city and outlying towns that you fly over.

Other than the big smudge on the card from the postal machinery, this is a terrific example of a map post card.

Advertising Postcards from Germany

These three cards were received from one postcrossing member.  I have only had one advertising card before.  They can be quite imaginative and appealing.  These three are particularly good.

This is my favourite in the bunch.  the colours and the style work so well together, too bad for the QR code on the front.

A Peaceful day Fishing

"Greetings from Suzhou, China! Suzhou is a 2500 year old city which is famous for its long history and beautiful scenery.  There are many canals, lakes, rivers and bridges here, so Suzhou is often c alled as a "water city"."

A day of fishing , if it were somewhat warmer, would be most welcome.

 

 

This gorgeous card came to me from Germany.  I am guessing that the music is by Mozart, anyone have a educated guess. I did visit the design website, Susy Card, but couldn't find any postcards.  I've changed my profile at postcrossing and asked senders to include a book recommendation on the postcards they send me.  .  I received my first one on this card for Level 26: Dark Origins by Anthony E. Zuicker.
